Singing Diva Anaida stole the show as she came in a flaming pink evening gown complete with a chiffon boa with a 3 dimensional butterflies. She was then joined by the man of the evening – Salim Asgarally. Kim Sharma, Nethra Raghunathan, Rajit Kapur with Chandini Kapur, designer Kanwaljeet Singh, Marvie Beck with husband Rajesh, Puneet Singh, photographer Haider Khan, designers Bhairavi Jaikishan, Sangeeta Desai, actor Sunny Mehta were all seen cheering as the creations were revealed in tune to Rehan Shah`s spectacular choreography and Shane Clark’s hypnotizing makeup. The hallmark of this collection is Salim’s use of vibrant colours – guaranteed to make the wearer standout at a party. Says Salim: “Silks and satins come together in a combination of striking contrasts on patchwork ponchos and kaftans. These are teamed with breeches, Capri pants and layered skirts.”

In fact skirts form the focal point of this collection. Long, layered and ruffled, Salim’s skirts are in solid and contrast color combinations (such as fuchsia and flame, lime and turquoise) and take this fashion staple to a new high when combined with his backless halters and corsets. Sarees embellished with rock stones and sequins in nets and georgettes add to the vibrancy and versatility of the line.

Salim Asgarally is also showing – FOR THE FIRST TIME – a limited line of men’s shirts for the young and the young at heart. The silhouettes are slim-fitted and the shirts are fashioned from tie-n-dye velvets, white mulls and stretch denim with embroidered accents for a dramatic appeal.

If that’s not enough, Salim will also preview a range of bags belts and shoes, especially created to coordinate with the outfits from his collections. And finally, the special attraction is the butterfly collection where embroidered 3D butterflies flit across corsets, sarees, tops, belts, bags and shoes in an array of colors and sequins.
